There are several common ways that people use for purifying their drinking water. Some of them are given below:

  1. Boiling
    The most common method for purifying water is to boil it for drinking. According to research by the World Health Organization, boiling water at a temperature of 60 degrees Celsius or more for a minimum of 5 to 25 minutes will destroy everything including the bacteria in it.
    But it is better not to drink boiled water for more than two days.
  2. Ceramic Filter
    Most people in Bangladesh use this type of ceramic filter. However, doubts remain about how much this type of filter can purify water. Experts say that this type of ceramic filter water purifier depends on how clean the filter is.
  3. Chlorine Tablets or Bleaching
    Chlorine tablets or bleaching are commonly used in areas where there is no opportunity to boil or filter water. Water is purified through this type of tablet especially during travel. This type of tablet is especially popular with adventurers. But the biggest problem with this type of tablet is that many people cannot tolerate the smell it contains. That’s why there may be reluctance to drink water. And since fresh water is another name for life, there is no other way but to drink water.
  4. Potash
    Water can be purified through the use of potash. In this case, if you mix a small amount of potash with water and keep it for 2-3 hours, the dirt will be washed under the water. But even in this case, it is not possible to be sure whether the water is completely purified.
  5. Fitkiri
    After boiling the water, tie a piece of alum in a cotton bag and immerse it for a few hours. After a few hours, the dirt will be separated and accumulated. However, even in this case, it is not possible to guarantee complete destruction of germs.
  6. Iodine
    Mix 2 percent alum well in 1 liter of water and keep it covered for a while, the water will become pure.
  7. Reverse Osmosis Filter
    At present, the most advanced technology that can be used to purify water is called reverse osmosis filtering system. Reverse osmosis systems have the latest technology that enables everything from removing germs from water to removing odors from water. So day by day reverse osmosis technology is becoming popular among people.
